The Palestine Story

Kishanth Javegar debuted his first photography exhibition titled ‘This Is Also Palestine’. The stunning collection of photographs document the everyday life in Palestine, aimed at engaging the audience with a lesser reported side, one that will cause you to challenge and question the common perceptions so often depicted of this contentious state.

The work aims to portray the human side of the ongoing situation in Palestine. The photographs document the exquisite beauty of the Palestinian landscape, as well as the stories of the incredibly hospitable and resilient people he befriended. The photographs aim to highlight the everyday life of people living under an occupation and, most importantly, showing the human side of the country: a side which is frequently not represented in the media.

He hopes that after visiting the exhibition and witnessing the true beauty of Palestine, you are encouraged to visit the country, experience its wonders for yourself and hear the Palestinians’ stories first-hand and to be informed on the Palestinian cause.

This was a one-day and highly interactive exhibition, as attendees were given the opportunity to meet Kishanth, attend a talk hosted by him and other Palestinian creatives, learn about the ever-pressing situation in Palestine, and be inspired by people who are helping through the power of arts, storytelling and vital humanitarian aid.

The event raised much-needed funds, over £1000, for numerous charities:
The money raised from the sale of the tickets went directly to help CADFA’s Palestinian girls’ visit.

All the high quality print photos from the exhibition were for sale and 100% of the money raised was donated to two charities:
1) Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), who provide immediate medical aid to those in need at times of crisis and are also developing the Palestinian healthcare system.
2) Additionally, part of the money was donated to The Good Shepherd Collective, who raise awareness of the unjust systems and structures operating in Palestine in the Bedouin community.
